ls1 on rx-7
hello guys
first of all thank you for a great site that is full of great information.
i have an 81 mazda rx-7 .
my rx-7 have an rb20det engine and i am looking for more powerfull engine so i have 2 engines to think about and i need your help comparing these engine, thay are 2jz-gte and ls1.
how much an ls1 wieght? i ll start by comparing the wieght thank you guys

the weight difference wouldnt be much of a factor when you think of the power difference. you can spend alot of money on the 2jz and maybe bust 11's or buy a cheap low mileage LS1 and already be low 13's to high 12's depending on which LS1, the weight, and the suspension. but the again i am biased towards the LS1 because it is a V8 after all! lol and im not much of an import fan. allthough i do like some. but your budget and preference basically decides which way that project would go. let me know how it goes. good luck

i saqw a fully built 350, carbed in one once.. i got to drive it(it was repossesed by the US marshalls, and i had to load and bring to the auction spot..)
it had a full JEgs rear end, and was pretty throaty... itd pull the front wheels off the ground, and it was an auto...

www.wrongmotor.com has several LS1-powered FCs, though they have slightly more engine bay room than the FB.
