Calling all LS1 gurus, need help
Car was cold, has not been driven all day. Go out to the car, and start it up. About a minute or 2 go buy, and i love to here the engine roar, so I give it a little gas. Get the tach up to somewhere near 3 grand. Let off the gas and RPMs drop, when it gets to about 1,200 to 1,350 RPMs, my lights flicker. I mean all of them, interior and exterior.
I did this a couple of times to make sure that my eyes were not playing tricks on me. After about 5 minutes in the car, it stopped. I go for a little dirve, come back home and park the car on the steet as the drive way was full of cars. The people leave and I go to move the car into the driveway, and sit there for a second or so. Mind you the car is still warm as it was sitting for about 20 minutes or so. Any way, the car did the same thing rev it up, lights flicker. minute goes by and no more flickering.
BTW- When the lights flicker, there is a sucking sound coming from the engine. When the lights stop flickering, the sucking sound stops.
I described the problem as best as I can. Hope someone knows what I am talking about. Thanks.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
check your connections on your battery. Do you have an amp for a stereo? is it like 5000wats and draining the battery? try it also with the a/c on [for shits n giggles].
ps, don't rev as soon as you start the car-not enough oil flowing just yet

that's what the sound is-the air pump. It injects air to dilute the rich mixture caused by the needless revving.
That causes the lights to dim.

reving is gay anyway. Your lights are trying to tell you to stop being gay.

Come on guys. He didn't post in here to get told he was gay for reving his engine. He had a specific problem and asked for help. This whole thread looks like I am reading a transcript from a couple of teenagers still in highschool. Grow up!

Lordy!
I'll have to check, but I'll bet that when most of us hop in the car and pull out of the driveway, we all hit 3 grand pretty easy. My car can keep dreaming about a 2 min. warm up.
I've never seen had any flicking lights like you described. It's got to be an electrical problem. ...and it just started happening? Bad connection or alternator is my guess.

My lights flickered on all 3 TA's that I have had. It's just the AIR pump cycling. I've seen other threads about this too. It's really only noticable at night. Nothing to worry about.
