backfiring
alright i bought my 94 formula about two months ago and i have found out what most of the mods. are that have been done and the brands they are, but i cant figure out my exaust. whoever had this car before me had alot of money cause everything they put into it isnt cheap and it was taken care of well. anyways it is a whole exaust hit pipes cats muffler all of it, but i dont know what brand. now im not trying to figure out the brand im trying to figure out a new brand to get. whenever i get on the gas say if im racing or something when i get off of it it backfires and the same thing if i rev at an idle. i read in another post that someone had flowmaster and theres did that too. what im asking is if its the flowmaster cat system and i just replace the muffler with say borla or SLP would that solve the problem of the backfiring?

Borla = Snap, crackle, pop
You might actually have an internal problem. Are you sure its backfiring from the exhaust and not the intake?

im not a 100% positive that its the exaust but im pretty sure. how would i know if it was the intake. it does have a K&N intake (not cool air) but i plan on replacing it with the SLP cool air pretty soon. also i was thinking at first it was borla but it doesnt have the rectangle tips it has the round tips.

i think i found and solved the problem. i had a couple loose bolts somehow where the y pip connects to the exaust pipe. i guess there was some air leaking out or someting cause its not backfiring since i tightened it up. but thanks for the help
