My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
utility truck/suv?
Sup guys,
I turn to my GM brethren to ask what is a quality truck/SUV that I can find that will do the following:
Must come in around $10k
Get good gas milage (is 20+ mpg possible in a truck?)
Have 2/4 wheel drive options
be capable of towing a 6x10 trailer with 50-90 gallons of water + equipment.
can look good if I doll it up a bit (rims, maybe a grille or something)
short story: ts|s is starting a mobile detailing service and i need a truck.

honestly a 2000 limited deisel excursion will pull anything. gas isnt too bad either. from houston to panama beach florida it took 1 tank, it was loaded with 9 ppl and enough luggage for a week stay. one of the few fords i would recomend

White- 09 G8 GT
4.8L extended cab sierra....idk about 20 mpg (highway?) close tho....but a late model (02-06) depending in mileage should be around 10k, they can be made to look real good, parts are all over the place and you know the motor already....

I have a 2001 ZR2 4x4 Chevy S10 (V6 Vortech 4.3L)
It's a great truck, but gas mileage is 17-18mpg average
You can easily get one under $10k
Being that you're in Ohio, a 4x4 is a must

I've been happy with our 05 durango. We can get over 20 on the highway but mixed driving my wife usually averages a little less than 18. AWD, 3rd row seats standard, and tows my 3000 lb camper easily.

A used Colorado/Canyon/Isuzu variant. Powerful for little baby trucks. 23-24 mpg. And you can get a 21 mpg 5.3 v8 if you can find one.

So do you do the details all by yourself or do you have help? What all do you offer?

omg i hate you...but that made me LOL 4 real!
We (myself and a guy named Iron Head on here) are going to offer the full gammut. I'm in the process of finalizing prices, but we'll offer "Stages" of washes like Stage 1 will be just a wash/clay/wax/tire dressing. where as stage 3/4 or something will be complete wash/clay/polisher/wheel and wells cleanout/steam clean and interior. Kurt is phenomenal at wetsanding and polishing, where as I can do some of the gritty work like interior/wheels/engine as well as pull in clients handle the marketing and essentially own the company.
We're very much hoping to appeal to the high-end and show car crowd, not necessarily the daily driver people, but we'll see how things unfold.

the daily driver crowd is often what keeps people in business. they outnumber the high end cars if you are gonna be "mobile". A lot of those show car guys do their own detailing. I would definitely be trying to wash just about anything as long as they are willing to pay your prices man.
