Call the cops/animal control.
Call every time it happens.
After a while they'll deal with it.

that pit will cut your dobie down pretty quickly so I wouldn't be real quick to turn it loose on the pit.
What I would do is try to work it out with this guy first. It sucks to have neighbors you can't get along with. Makes for a miserable time outside in your own backyard. Do whatever you can to work it out with him and then if that doesn't work you can go from there.

Actually I suppose you two could have a little contest to send your dog against his, and see who wins. After your dog dies you can go cry to the authorities, however when they find out it was planned, you go to jail for dogfighting.
So your dog will be dead and you'll be in jail.
At least you can make a comeback playing for the Eagles.

growing up when I was in my early teens dog fighting was real popular around my town. I saw a lot of dog fights growing up. Long legged dogs almost always came away with broken legs when fighting pits. The pits just take the legs out from under them.
disclamer:
I don't condone dog fighting and would never fight a dog. I watched a bunch of fights back then but I was too young and dumb to really even know what I was watching.

I have a level 4 then.....mine bites whether I tell him too or not.
picture of my level 4 mississippi leg hound/chow mix in training. This was the water portion of his training where I was training him to attack water anytime it's coming out of a garden hose. He passed.
