just had my cellphone stolen

that just pisses me off to no end to have a phone stolen, are people that stupid to seriously think that if they steal a phone they can use it and it wont be deactivated as soon as the person they stole it from calls and reports it?

glad i had insurance on it, it was a $600 dollar cell phone and has gps tracking on it im glad the police said they wont do anything for me, awesome world we live in.

Atleast you have insurance on it. Try calling your stolen phone and see if anybody answers. Though i'm sure you've already done that.

Most smartphones go for $600+ MSRP, even the iPhone does, most of my BlackBerrys.

Iphones cost $99 now. Blackberries I see are usually 3-400.

That's subsidized... If you paid the full price, some of us do. You would be paying $500-1,000+ for some of these smartphones.

if your phone is stolen or lost of broken and you do not have insurance you have to pay full price it has happened to me in the past, or just not pay it and they will keep billing you for the life of the contract

You can use a phone with out a contract. Its more popular to see someone paying full price for a smartphone, then a "hip" phone. Maybe someone needs this feature from a certain phone, but that provider does not have service in that area. So you can buy them, unlock or unlock it yourself. Then use it on another provider. So people are not elgible for an upgrade, but need or want a new phone.

it's a pretty slick phone, pretty much has everything-i'd call it a mini laptop, honestly. but who cares what he paid, it's the principle.

that being said, boner, i took a chance and walked around over the rhine for a few minutes calling your #-your phone turned up in some homeless guy's pocket not far from me. But he threated to chew on my arm if i came near, soooo sorry!

I've got the best lost cell phone story. True story

Lot of the guys in my family are cops and my aunt lost her phone while shopping one day. She told her son (who is a cop) and he called the phone number and some guy answered. I told the guy, "hey you've got my phone and I want it back" the guy answered with "I'll sell it back to you for $50." By now my cousin had run the police tracker on the phone and had this guys location. So my cousin tells the guy, "yeah okay I'll buy it." they set up a drop off and this guys shows up with 2 buddies and everyone gets arrested for sell of stolen property. ha ha ha

that is the retail price, i got it for 100 for a 2 year contract, if you lost the phone or stolen like my case and didn't have insurance you have to pay full price for the phone or get another for the full amount if you want to keep your contract or your other option is to not get one and pay the rest of the contract with no phone.
