I have Kooks LTs, Kooks Y, LM2 with no cats and my car is not raspy at all. In fact, it sounds f'in awesome. I get nothing but compliments from people every time I have taken it out since I got my work done. I think the rasp lies in the LM1 set-up. I've heard cars with LTs and LM1 and they were raspy. I don't think Kooks would sound much different than any other header?
Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

Put a stock catback on it if you are going to run a cutout.
I have seriously considered doing that myself. Sound so very tame...probably get messed with often.

I'm glad I was able to be around and drive fbodies that had almost every exhaust/y-pipe/catback system on the market before I selected mine. Settled for a 4" Mufflex y-pipe and catback system and haven't regretted it since. Nice deep tone and not too loud around town and sounds like a maniac wide open; and I don't have to run any cutouts/etc. The only thing I may do in the future is replace the muffler with the similar Magnaflow muffler (4" in, 2*3" out like the stock Fbody design) 'cos the Spintech Muffler is heavy as F!

I would also just swap the resonator with a bullet muffler. Definately no need to get rid of the whole exhaust unless you were going to go true dual. I have the LM2 and don't find it to be raspy. With a Magnaflow muffler it would sound even better.

It says its for the 82-92 F-Bodies. So they never made a specific system for the LS1 cars? How does this system compare against all the other aftermarket kits out there in terms of power? I would assume it would have an edge seeing as its a 4 inch system.
Id be curious to see how comparable it is to a Corsa in sound. My buddy had a corsa on his WS6 and I loved it!
