blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
so because a dealer orders or receives a ridiculously optioned car..then goes and rapes on the mark up ..its somehow gm's fault ?
if i am not mistaken our birds and maros had some ridiculous mark ups. ..and wouldn't you be pissed and bitch if they marked down the maros to 16k..then once the economy bounces back they move it back up to 22k.
i think in general..those who dont like the camaro or GM..will find something/if not everything to bitch about it ..but once again that is human nature.

i went to buy one a few months back and they wouldn't even honor emplyee pricing on em, they told me that they dont have to honor it cause there in such high demand. my grand father worked for gm for 30 years here in the Norwood plant in Cincinnati making all the first and 2nd gen camaros and trans am's. And ill never ever buy a GM product again, its not even gm anymore it's under the gov't control.
it sucks to say it but Ford is truly the only American car anymore they didnt take bailout money so congrats to them.

Pewter- 2001 Camaro Z28 M6
yes its gms faults...
I feel that companies should be responsible and control their resellers mark up.
If GM sets an MSRP, than the costs of the vehicle should never be higher than MSRP...
Many companies that sell their products non-direct through reseller chains, control the resellers in what costs/discounts the product can be sold for and mark up is not allowed.
Secondly, GM can not afford to discount any of their vehicles that much because of the high costs the UAW has hit GM with. hence why GM is and has been in the situation they are in. Also why many past domestic car makers no longer exist, the UAW is greedy, demanding and devours companies like a parasite.
If GM would have filed bankruptcy from the very beginning, disolved the UAW, hire workers directly and pay them directly, GM would be in a better leaner more costs efficient position. Now its only a matter of time until GM dissolves to nothing... History has proven this with past US car makers.

hmm yea i assume gm should take more control..i know that when the maro was first released they told the dealerships that they could not be sold for more then msrp..but that might have been for the orders and not the off the lot buys. i believe that gm will survive and will come back leaner and stronger..but it will take time
