What should I tell my aunt?

My aunt has a nice 2000 z28 A4 75K miles. It is artic white. She has been kind of holding the car for me because she knows i want it. The car books for $6700. It has been in a hit and run to the left quarter panel which was repaired. I don't want to rip her off or negotiate hard because she is family, but be realistic. What do you guys think its worth?

I would just talk to her, ask her how much she wants. If its too much offer a little lower, the worst she can do is say no.

Go over there and clean it up, every other week. Keep it clean, and running good. 6-8 mounths latter (longer you do it better), ask her how much she wants for it. She may very well give it to you, or sell it to you very cheap.

i would say that is a pretty fair price with the miles on it,ive seen a lot worse shape with way more miles go for more

That's not a terrible price, but it wouldn't hurt to show you are interested by taking care of it either for her. She might be loaded and just give it to you.

Yup, cash is KING! It's how I've bought more then half of the cars I've ever owned. And for much less than the advertised price. I do use $100 bills though.

If there are no major existing blemishes it worth the kbb price. Ask her what she wants for it.

I ended up calling her last night.. she has absolutely NO CLUE what her car is worth. She ended up asking me what i think its worth and what KBB value was. She asked me how much cash i had. I told her I had 7K. Would be a fair price?

Tell her, you have $7,000... But really can only afford $5,000 at the most, need to put some away in the savings for school/bills/house. Play that card, shes family, lol. But also tell her KBB says it only worths $6,500 in show room condtion.

Yeah. When she calls back this weekend thats what ill tell her.. She really didnt have lots of time to talk cuz she was real busy.

I agree but I think I would tell her $6,000 because it has been hit before and is not in mint condition, that would be a good deal IMO. I also would see what she wants for it first then tell her that, who knows maybe she only wants $5,000, you could get lucky.
