Trans Am written on rear above firebird?

I'm sorry if this question has been answered in the past or if the answer is unbelievably simple, but it has been bugging me for quite some time now and I thought you guys probably had an answer to this question.

My question is, on my '99 Trans Am on the rear between the lights where the firebird logo/lock for the hatchback is located there is no Trans Am stamp/label above the bird/lock, instead there's just blank space.

Now every TA I've seen including the 99's have had the words "Trans Am" written across there, and mine is the only one that I've seen that lacks it.

This car is a 1 owner besides me and he ordered it straight from the factory.
Again, sorry if this is a simple question, but it has been nagging me since I purchased the car in February.

Looks like someone just forgot to put the trans am on. The top is faded so it might have just faded away. Mine was faded away. You could still see parts of the outline and it was raised.

Either, it faded.... or, someone removed it. the factory variations were:

1. Firebird
2. Trans Am
3. White/Silver colored on anniversary
4. Solid Black on some formula's.

Those logo's are painted on and chances are some one sanded it off.
You can get vinyl decal replacements.

Yeah, mine said Trans Am, but faded quick... even with the car being garage kept. I got the replacement stickers to go on top of the faded ones and it looks great!

I should of thought of that myself, you can even tell by the top of the bird that it's faded above a lot for some reason, hrmm.

I've seen a few where the wording is (or at least seemed, I could be wrong, didn't take a close look) under the plastic rather than being on top, I just figured the previous owner whom custom ordered it from the factory specified for it to be left off. (This car is odd, there is no information on the door/door frame, nor anywhere else on the car...in fact the only info I could find was in the book...I'll just have to call him and ask for more information)

Oh, and I know this is off topic, but I was wondering if this was done by the previous owner as well...

Yep all done by previous owner. Get the vin bro and post it up in the GM VIS section. Will tell all info about the car

I doubt you can even order little bullshit like that.

And the Doorjamb being blank, prolly means its been painted......

Thanks again, this forum has provided the best and fastest help I've ever experienced, and I've been to quite a few forums.

There are other indicators that it's been painted as well, -.-. I'm definitely going to get the vin and see what I can find out along with calling up the previous owner for what has happened/has been done under his care.
