I'm so jealous, I would LOVE to have mine done. My mom, my uncle, and a friend have all done it, with excellent results.
About not doing it because you don't want your eye cut on, you know there are new procedures that are bladeless, right? No razor cutting on your eye anymore.

Anyone else see the How It's Made when they did lasik? The razor part made me cringe. My parents said they couldn't feel anything though.

Haha, ya, the vids kinda creep you out don't they. Hopefully they'll let me record mine. If so, I'll for sure post it! Here's a link to the same type of procedure that I'm getting done.

That made my feel physically ill. I'd rather not know how they do it and just let it get done.

I paid about $3400 with a discount through my jobs eyplan. they give out all kinds of discounts if you ask. they make a killing for 2 minutes worth of work so they are willing to work on price.
BTW surprised no one mentioned how it smells like burning hair when they use the laser. That was freaky ;-)

The worst part was when they put the vaccum on your eye to hold it up so they could do the procedure. The cut is painless and when they said we are done - I sat up and I could read the labels on the alcohol bottles across the room. It was instantly clear as a bell.
Very cool thing.
One thing that was hard to adjust to was when I got in the shower and everything was clear. I would think that I hd left my glasses on and go to pull them off. You will also go to push your glasses up on your nose for about two months just out of habit but they will not be there.
Like it was stated above after the procedure go out and buy a cool pair of sunglasses.
I will be nice to finally be able to buy sun glasses that are not nerdy looking.
Good Luck and I know you will love it.

Just to update y'all. My lasik was done successfully on the 24th. It was by far the craziest procedure I'll ever ever experience. Before the actual surgery, they ran me thru some tests and I talked with the surgeon. He explained to me that with my high prescription, that I'll prolly have to get an enhancement in a year. He said it'll be a process. The first time, they'll get me 90% there and the enhancement will get me the last 10%. After I gave the final decision, they gave me some valium just to calm ya down, They then led me to the surgery room where I layed down on a swivel table.
They put a bunch of numbing drops into my eyes. They stung for a few secs, but nothing excruciating.
The first step was the cutting of the cornea flap. They only do the Intralase Bladeless at the center I go to. The swiveled my head under the first laser, placed a clamp over my eye and said "ok, you might feel a little pressure here and your vision will go gray"
About 30-60 secs later, my cornea flap was cut. They swiveled me over to the actual wavefront correction laser and told me to look at the red light. I did so as they counted down from 60, and viola! all done with the lasers. The last step was was to place my cornea back into place. That was the most uncomfortable part of the whole deal, but overall, the whole thing was completely painless and fast. Defintately the fastest $3800 i've ever spent.
My follow up the next day went great. 20/25 vision currently with alot of healing/progress to go. Dry eye really isn't an issue but I do see halo's around lights at night. The doc said thats just from my inflammation around the cornea flap. My right eye is definately better than the left, as expected, but overall I'm EXTREMELY satisfied. I'm already seeing better than I did with my glasses. I definately recommend this to everyone!

Glad to hear that everything went good. I'm still looking into it. I'm still a little creeped out by the thought of cutting on my eyes.

Ya, I'm REALLY looking forward to the halo's goin away. As far as everything else, things are great. No dry eye and my left eye has cleared up, no more blurriness. I have another opt appt next week to measure my new prescription.
