well the way I see it, its like buying a whole new car, but better. because it will be built to your liking.

I'd say 10 g's is a good guess. the 402/408 short block will be like 4 grand on its own. count on a solid 3 for the whole top end. it all depends on components. check out texas speed for engines. heres a link http://texas-speed.com/shop/categoryM.asp?MID=1&catid=3

you could do it for less than 10k but that would take some serious talent. you might be able to find someone who started a project and then ran out of money. thats what i was going to try and do but i got impatient.

It would cost me my left nut, but this seems like a popular set up. Seems like I read more about people ditching the LS1 for an LS3, LS7 or an LSx motor... Is the 402/408 an LSx motor?

I think the LSX block is down to 2000 bucks. Pretty sure I saw one for 1800 a few days ago.

it depends on what internals you use. Ive seen stroker rotating assemblies for almost 4 grand themselves, not including the block. If you buy heads for 3k are you gonna have them ported out even further? Or just leave them as is? etc... I work with a guy that has a 30,000 dollar 418 stroker motor in a mustang. It all depends on what parts you use. Which supercharger are you talking about. An F3 Procharger is definitly gonna cost you some.

LSX blocks were built with 6 head bolts per cylinder and it was desighned to handle 2,500 horses or you can live with like 1,000 hp on the street with dd capabilities
