    New guy check-in

Now before I take heat, I know I drive a G8 but I have been reading on this site for quite some time. Just figured I would join. I literally think I belong to about 7 different forums (including a chargerforumz even!) because no matter where you get it from, knowledge is knowledge. And I just love to talk cars!

Shouldn't catch much, if any, heat. G8 GT's are very nice cars, how can you got wrong with any LS based engine?

    Welcome from OK!

On this forum you have to check the "Show your signature" box below the "Submit Reply" button to get it to show up. You're signature will only show up once per page of any particular thread, to save the 56k people's computers from exploding.

No problem. Looks like you got a nice list of mods there Have you had a chance to run the 1/4? That would be good to add to your sig as well if you have times.

Yeah I did but it was on street tires and a 150 shot. Lets just say stock bridgestones dont like 535 ft lbs of tq!! Times were awful. Motor was 12's but high. Even just motor, street tires dont like it. Will post more next visit to Gainesville though. This time I will try it with DR's and see what happens!

Yeah, we F-body guys really have to watch it....we break street tires loose easily, but hooking is where the real problem lies... lots of guys break these tiny little rear ends...I've been lucky to make it to 161k with mine though Haven't researched the G8 suspension, how does it hold up to the murder you're putting on it? You think the DR's will have an effect on your stock rear?

Good luck on your next run, get some video if you can, we LOVE vids

I will definitely video these runs. Suspension seems to be taking it fine but its the driveshaft and rear-end that will probably go first. But hey, just another reason for modding and upgrading!!

Exactly right, if you've got the money to do it. I can only imagine the cost of building up an IRS system though...I'll stick with solid axle thanks Right now I'm being easy, my two kids and 170lb mastiff eat holes in my pockets I'll be doing it slowly, but I got plenty of time to get my car where I want it. And I think I've infected the wifey, she's been talking about mebbe getting a black SS, or a Firehawk if I can find one in the next year or so Time will tell, we shall see.

Well good luck. I'm trying to convince the wife we need a new SS beside the G8. She's not buying it but I will convince her!! Ever since I installed the DMH cutouts, whenever I open them up and drive by her, she loves it! It's Nascar loud though so I dont do that often on the street!!

Good luck with that, just keep trying, she'll give in eventually!! I'd like to get a pair of electric cutouts put on right behind the pacesetters Get that true dual sound to go with having a cutout Plus I actually want true duals eventually, so I might as well go ahead and get two cutouts.
