Any Firefighters/rescue people on the board?

If there's any on the board I would like to get your input on the job and what one would have to do to become a firefighter/rescue personnel?

To be a volunteer firefighter in my town you basically have to have a pulse lol You go to fire academy and if you are not a total pussy and or stupid you pass "fire 1". then i think you are a jr scrub firemen. Then you work your way up. The process I dont think is more then a yr at most. Theres volunteer firemen in my town that are like 18 yrs old.

I've been a Volunteer For a few years, and am in fire acadamy now, and I love it....

Volunteer is pretty basic. You get voted on te department where you live, and follow there guidelines.

to be a pro, nowadays EMT-Basic cert is almost a must, then you go to fire acadamy.

I'm a firefighter with NSW Fire Brigades and we attend all fire, rescue and Hazmat incidents.

The first thing you would need to be a fireman in our city is a plane ticket...
