building new engine and q's
I am building a new engine for my lt1 car. I know I going with dart 200cc heads and a 383 stroker or 355, but I don't know what type of crank my 95 came with stock. is it a forged crank? if so would it be able to handle a total of 800hp with nitrous over 3000rpm's. I will be upgrading rods and pistons also, and this will all be on a new block also. Also does anyone have any recomendations on cranks? and is there anything I need to know about different cranks out there. like I said this is gonna be a high horsepower build with 2 stage direct port nitrous system. It will need to take one hell of a beating.

Stock crank is cast and would need to be changed. I not sure what crank so I will leave that part of the answer to someone with high HP XP. Might even want to throw a line in the NOS section.

alright. guess I am going 383 then. didn't know if it was forged. if it was I was gonna go ahead and save cash and go the 355 route. most all the power is gonna be made with nitrous so it didn't matter to me as much which it went with. prolly make a 40-50hp difference, but this is still gonna be a street car.

Callies makes good cranks, as does Crower. One piece rear main seal design. Scat makes decent cranks as well. I personally wouldnt go with Eagle (Chinese), although many folks have had good luck with their stuff.

you can buy a regular SBC roatator kit. a 383 kit is actually dam close in price to a forged 355 setup. i'd do atleast a 383
I found a badass eagle roatator with forged pistons, h-beams, and crank, comes with rings too for $2,000
says it'll take 1200 HP. eagle products are a little on the heavy side, but dam, they are beefy, and can surely hold good power.

what type of sbc rotating assembly would I need? 4 bolt main? anything else I need to look for?

4 bolt main is the block type, not the rotating assembly. You'll want all forged components, steel h beam or I beam rods, no aluminum rods. You'll want a ring package that is designed for use with nitrous. And one piece rear main seal design crank.
