simplified he said "become water"... when you think of it it is brilliant... water forms to the shape of any container... that applies in many ways...

"Empty your mind, be formless, Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend."And bruce lee was what got me into fighting. If you just watch things (or read things) on bruce lee you will see just HOW ahead of his time he was. He was doing things back then that people are just starting to do to this day. Without Bruce Lee, I believe the martial arts we see today would not exist.

That was the analogy I saw. After I watched that...I was speechless. I was in absolute awe and I developed a strong respect for that man. That is deep. I am happy there are others who feel the same degree of respect for that man as I do.

I'm not sure if anyone here knows this. But Bruce Lee was done over wrong many times by Hollywood. One example? Remember the Kung Fu series? Bruce Lee was supposed to be in that, as he had a lot to do with its creation, but the powers that be pushed him out and gave the part to David Carradine.

Bruce Lee got his first shot at stardom here, when given the part of Kato on The Green Hornet series in the 60s.

If you like Bruce Lee, this is a pretty good documentary/movie about his life. And Bruce Lee's wife was involved to make sure things were as accurate as possible. This details some of the wrongs mentioned above.

BRUCE LEE...... bruce lee in his short time alive created a new martial arts style Jeet Kune Do. That is a feat that no-one has ever done, typically martial art styles take generations to create. His mix of the best from each fighting style and philosphy was amazing.

    second would be:
Jet Li.... Jet Li holds many chanpionships and records in many martial arts styles including 15 gold metals in Wushu (chinesse combat fighting)

There are many great fighters out there, Frank Mir, GSP, etc.... however there are only a few masters. Bruce Lee and Jet Li are true masters.

Frank Dux didn't invent his own style but he did modifiy an exsisting one to a great degree. I would say he has to be above Jet Li. I have much respect for Bruce Lee, the move Dragon was awesome. If my memory serves me correctly, did one of the fight scenes in a Bruce Lee movie be a actual fight. I thought I had heard of that before.

Bruce Lees son Brandon was on the verge of being the next great action star had he not been killed on the set of the Crow.

He got into many fights on the sets of his movies, but I don't think he allowed any of them into the actual film.

Apparently at almost every movie set, someone would have to challenge him and say he was only a movie star and not a true fighter. It would also get a local a Big Rep if they could say they whipped Bruce Lee.

    Copied from the web...

Lee's celebrity and martial arts prowess often put him on a collision course with a number of street thugs, stunt men and martial arts extras, all hoping to make a name for themselves. Lee typically defused such challenges without fighting, but felt forced to respond to several persistent individuals.

Bob Wall, USPK karate champion and co-star in Enter the Dragon, recalled a particularly serious encounter that transpired after a film extra kept taunting Lee. The extra yelled that Lee was "a movie star, not a martial artist," that he "wasn't much of a fighter." Lee answered his taunts by asking him to jump down from the wall he was sitting on. Bob Wall described Lee's opponent as "a gang-banger type of guy from Hong Kong," a "damned good martial artist," and observed that he was fast, strong, and bigger than Bruce.

Wall recalled the confrontation in detail:

"This kid was good. He was strong and fast, and he was really trying to punch Bruce's brains in. But Bruce just methodically took him apart.". "Bruce kept moving so well, this kid couldn't touch him...Then all of a sudden, Bruce got him and rammed his ass with the wall and swept him up, proceeding to drop him and plant his knee into his opponent's chest, locked his arm out straight, and nailed him in the face repeatedly." After his victory, Lee gave his opponent lessons on how to improve his fighting skills. His opponent, now impressed, would later say to Lee, "You really are a master of the martial arts.
