What is it with Chevy and large molded plastic pieces covering everything in the engine bay? Good lord!!!! Even the SS is just one giant ugly molded plastic cover. I want to see the freakin' ENGINE!!!! For Pete sake someone rip that crap off!! I know some people consider the LS based engines to be "ugly" or "cluttered" but that is just hideous.

And someone get me a 12 pack of beer and a sandwich to put in that ice chest on the end of the intake tube. What the hell is that thing? It looks like something my folk's conversion van had on it back in the 80s.

I don't know who passed that Viper info to you, but the Challenger SRT8 has a 6.1 Hemi and there is another V8 Challenger that has the 5.7 Hemi. Also a V6 version, but no Viper based engine.

were have you been for the past 6 years..those covers are on most cars now ..you want to see the engine..then take it off..it isnt that hard..and then secondly that "thing" houses the filter ..and is also very common...the straight style of the ls1/ls2/ls6/ls3 intake isnt used to much besides in corvettes anymore...gm learned its lesson with the f-bodies and that...pushes everything too deep into the engine bay. that design is a space saver design..and a simple cai will solve that problem..and dont forget the baffles that came with the ls1 f-bodies ..

They come off relatively easily and like 'slim' milk shady just said, they've been doing the plastic thing over engines for years now.
