Looks like a vacuum line and one of them is the one that opens your dash vents.

I believe that is a directional vacuum valve. It contains a flapper valve that only lets air flow in one direction. If it is damaged air will sometimes pass through it both ways. You can test it by blowing through it and should be replaced in exactly the same direction. If it is what I think it is you probably need it. Again air should only pass in one direction.

Since it is a one way check valve and you probly like your vents to work properly I would tuck it under a loom of wires so you don't see it and leave it alone

Thanks for the responses. I am completely removing the A\C and heating elements from my car. The tube runs down to somewhere by the front head lights. Haven't been able to find where it goes yet. I just don't want to take it out and my engine starts having problems.

I believe that vacuum hose connects somewhere behind the intake and thats where you should start looking so you can cap it off to avoid a vacuum leak.

Good, so I cap it off at the back of the intake, and then take out all plumbing asocciated with it, and I should be good. Thank you all for the responses.

I've heard it won't come out with out breaking it so I'd leave it alone.
