Red+White Top and Stripes- 2000TransAmConvertible A4
I don't understand something, what is a Formula WS6?
What is the difference between a conversion and merchandise package?
Also, someone mentioned different gearing for different cars, I knew the shocks, exhaust, and ram air were different for ws6 vs. regular cars, but what is the difference in gearing? (I have a 2000 Trans Am originally non ram air)FAST 90/90, SLP Lid, Kooks JetHot Coated LT's, American Racing Y-Pipe+Magnaflow Cats, DHM Electric Cutout, Flowmaster American Thunder Catback, HP Tuners Software, 343 rwhp.
BMR Convertible Subframe Connectors, Hotchkis Strut Tower Brace, BMR Driveshaft Safety Loop.

1) The WS6 option was available on Formula's from 1996-2000.
2) The Conversion Pkg (WS9) essentially means the car is V8 equipped, why it is called Formula conversion is beyond me, must be the infinite wisdom of GM
All V8 cars have specific suspensions parts, cooling systems, interior appointments etc....
3) Merchadise Pkg is essentially the equipment for that Model be it spoilers badges different body panels interior trim etc..
The only differences as to gearing is that the standard gears for Automatic equipped V8 cars is 2.73's There was an optional extra cost performance gear set 3.23's. The 3.23's were mandated on WS6 equipped cars but not part of the package so it was at extra cost.
to find out your gear set check your RPO sticker on your drivers door
GU2 = 2.73's
GU5 = 3.23's
GU6 = 3.42's (Std on Manual Trans Only)Last edited by 9T8W66; 02-04-2009 at 06:27 AM.

Black- 2001 WS6 Trans Am
Just picked up a 01' TA, but no sticker on door. Car must have been painted.
It has WS6 air intake, after market exhaust..Where else can I verify it is a true
WS6 car?? The vin # is 2G2FV22G912141588... I am used to the options listed on the permanent trim tag or cowl tag on 1st and 2nd gens..
