Wierd whine coming form dashboard motor)

This is about the only thing I noticed about my new aquisition (01 z28 6 speed). when started up inside the car and outside you can hear what sounds like an electrical whine. It's pretty faint and not loud by any means but noticeable. It reminds me of back in highschool of learning how to install amps and getting serious buzzing from the speakers that went with rpm. Just not nearly that loud.

Any ideas what it might be? It's there all the time and goes with rpm. I'd almost guess its an accessory maybe the alternator starting to die out?

could be your fuel pump... if u got a after market one or your stero could be picking up currency from your fuel pump which would creat a whine i had it do that in my f body when i had a system in it

Ok it does it when the stereo is off too. Sounds like one of the accessories I think. The previous owner has said it's done it for years. It does kinda sound cool when driving as if there's a hint of a blower !

you checked your power steering fluid?
