Too bad my apt complex will not allow it. That and the dog would kill my GF's little poodle......

Reading up on breeds, its said that german shepherds are one of the smartest most loyal dogs out there.
I have a shepherd and agree.

What kind of dog pedigree papers do you have? Did you buy it from an on-line breeder, it seems pricey. Other than that very nice dogs if i say so myself, i'm getting another female so i can start breeding them myself.

The red Dobie I had was one dog I'll never forget. He was smart, loyal, protective and a great all around member of the family. Great choice! If I wasn't afraid of constantly comparing another one to him I would get another.

If he bought it on-line that price would be for the plane ride to it's new home, like shipping and handling.

Very bold statement. Do you happen to have any proven research on this? Any statistics? And is this why you see so many more dobermans on police forces than GSDs right?

But on another note, good luck with your new dog, Im sure he will make you a good one.

No two dogs are the same, When I had my dobbie, my wife was carring our first son, he wouldn't leave her side, when our son was born, he transfer to our son. Very loyal and protective. He would not let anyone near him unless we said it was ok.

Can wait till I can get another one....He passed away a few yrs ago...

Most dogs are protective of their family. They know when something ain't right. Size don't even matter. Even the ankle biters.

Never cared too much for Dobermans myself. Their was one at petsmart taking classes when my dog was a pup. The doberman snapped at him when the lady was not paying attention.

I'm sure it's bs but I hear the way a doberman's head somehow causes them to go nuts later in life. I've heard that about pits as well... mY dogs head is so dam big I'm sure he's got room to spare.
