Electric water pump?
I’m considering installing an electric water pump. “They” claim a pick-up of 10 to 12 HP. I’m hoping the team here has some experience and can advise if it truly does deliver the 10-12HP. What are the pros and cons to them?

Pros motor gets in powerband faster, cons you have to buy replacement motors for when they die out. They have threads where they have done tests w/ minimal gains, but i'm to lazy to pull them up, there are better things to spend that kind of money on.

For the expense.... money is better spent elsewhere. Unless you are trying to squeeze every last HP out of the engine and fully modded. A guy that used to work for W2W pushed me away from them claiming over heating issues etc. Dont have any experiance with them though.

I have seen nothing but good things about them. Yes the motors burn up, but they only cost $60 a motor and can be changed without pulling the pump. Real quick and simple switch. I have seen some threads that gain around 10rwhp and some around 4rwhp, it may depend on what types of mods you already have. And for the overheating issue, not a chance. They flow around 58 gpm which is insane. I have seen nothing but good things, thats for sure. I will be getting one after my H/C and intake

Man: The Mods you are fighting,
they are the biggest Men I have ever seen. I
wouldn't want to fight them!
Me: That is why no one will remember your name!

My stock TT BMW has an electric water pump - can't be a bad idea if the Germans use em.

I've had my Meziere for two years, 200 track runs and about 15K miles.
Issues: When this first came out there was a problem that caused a leak on the top of the pump. This was fixed by Meziere and it's been a non-issue since. I unfortunately must have gotten an older pump sitting in someones inventory and did have this problem after about 8 months. The good news is that Meziere fixed it, in only two days, and extended my warrenty. They even paid shipping to and from their place.
I will say this, I lost over a tenth in the quarter mile going back to the stock pump. The gains you will see from the pump are up top.

NBM / Silver- 00 SS / 71 SS Elcamino
Single best Mod I did on my old 64 Nova for the track. Droped .4 second with the HP Increase and less drag. Problem was that was 18 years ago when they first came out. They were for drag raceing only and the pump wouldn't last for everyday driveing.
I think they are built better now a days and make them for daily driveing. If I had the extra $ I would get one.2000 SS Camaro Heads, Large cam, Fast 90, 9"w/430's and locker, yada yada yada... you get the picture
