Clearly.
If you read those other threads, then you know that if it goes faster than a camaro with lid and free mods, it's always in kph. Because nothing can be faster than their lightly modded fbodys.
Good thing that stripped, 700rwhp vette was there. I think if it hadn't been for that, a couple of those guys would be claiming that bone stock bikes can't go that fast.

A lot of aftermarket companies make crate motors that they dyno at the crank before they put them into the vehicle... You're probably right, but the difference at this level is probably more than 100 crank hp, which would make the difference in a couple of races. I'm building a motor for the stang that should put down in the neighborhood of 700 rwhp on pump gas. So, I'm asking because I'd like to know how I'd fair against those bikes.
Chris

Firebird, you don't read very well. Find the following in my post and then observe the context:
"those bikes."
"on pump gas." It might be closer than you think if the race is planned in advance, firebird.

correct me if im wrong but your saying that your build at 700 will compete with that nos busa or what are you talking about when you say those bikes?all im stating is the vette in the video had no chance against that nos busa.so how would you have anymore of a chance?im a bit confussed here please explain on what you mean

Why so you can flame me? It sounds as though you're under the impression that no car can keep up with a modified bike.
"Those bikes" refers to all of the bikes, the nos busa was only one. There's the R1, the 10R, and the turbo busa, as well. If the vette is making 690 at the crank, then I believe 700rwhp at the crank of a similarly weighted car would be enough to outrun the 10R.
pump gas is as opposed to race gas: I can put down a lot more power on race gas... a hell of a lot more. So, no at 700rwhp, no way I could run with either Hayabusa, but if the corvette was making 690 at the crank, then I'll most likely be able to outrun both of the other bikes.
I don't want to talk too much shit because I'm just putting the motor together right now and it's a long way off from being a tuned running combination, but there's enough potential in the parts I'll be running to make a higher power/weight on race fuel than that nos busa is making.

i hope u can and will beat the bikes with your car in fact the vette did beat one of the bikes.all im saying is its a challenge to beat the busa...wait did u say u can beat the 10r as well.i dont think so thats a tough one to swallow

He beat the vette by less than 10 lengths in the vid. So yeah, I don't see anything too tough about beating him with 100+ hp over the vette.
Now here's some sobering math for you to think through:
240hp:650 lbs (that's a busa + a 150 lb rider) ==> 1 hp per 2.71 lbs
My turbos together are rated to put out 1360 hp:
1360hp:3300 lbs (the weight of my car with me) ==> 1hp per 2.43 lbs
More realistically, I'll run 27psi and right around 1200 hp on race gas.
1200hp: 3300 lbs ==> 1hp per 2.75 lbs
Of course, that's at the crank and it's assuming the busa is making 240 at the crank. If the busa is making it at the rear wheels it'd be harder to catch. In that case, it'd be pretty much even rwhp:weight at the max output of my engine and turbo combination.
