Black- Murdered 2006 GMC Sierra
No tags
On the 24th I'm flying to Atlanta to buy a car. I live in NC. I plan to drive the car home I will have insurance on the car and a bill of sale but no tag. Or is there a way I can get a tag without title or anything? Anyone have experience with this?

You can stop at the DMV there and pick up a temp tag I'm sure. You can probably drive it on the bill of sale, but I'd check with the DMV there just to be save.

Required supplies:
cardboard
scissors
black sharpie
duct tape.
1. Cut cardboard license-plate-size
2. Write on cardboard "Tag aplied[sic] for"
3. Duct tape cardboard to license plate area on back of car (Optional: place anywhere on back of car).
4. ???
5. Profit
That's what I've seen a lot of people do.

I *think* you can get a "30-day non-resident" temp tag.

I've put on plates from other cars... not the legal way, but always worked. I've done it as a backup as I thought I could get temp plates for transport, but every time I tried I had no luck. I don't know if the places don't do it, or didn't know how to.

here in CT, it is a bigger fine / "more illegal" to drive a car with the incorrect plate, as apposed to no plate at all
but the chances of getting caught are inversely related !

Yeah, some laws are stupid as hell.
In my state, the laws are as follows:
Blockage (Any type) of the license plate = $80 fine.
No license plate = $25 fine.
I got a ticket a long time ago for having a license plate frame that covered 1/3 (A third!!!) of the county and registration stickers. I initially was awarded the $80 fine, but after intelligently arguing with the DA for a few minutes, she agreed that she would rather not me drive around with no plate at all and lowered my fine to $25

buying from a private seller. Talked to DMV today. They said with insurance and title I should be fine. She also said I could take a plate off of another vehicle of mine and if I get pulled tell them I'm going to transfer it when I get home. I said to her now wouldn't that be a ficticious tag charge. I iiiiiigot back just a blank stare. Oh well. I'm just gonna drive with no tag and hope for the best.

Good luck. I'd just get a temp tag myself to be safe and not worry about a dumb hassle

Silver- 2005 Toyota Corolla (DD)
I'd write on the cardboard the date the vehicle was purchased and something like "in transit". If you get stopped with no tag and can produce documents you should be fine (no pun intended). Get caught with the wrong plates and you WILL be fined.
