I'm kinda with shady, in that there is always your version and the other version of a story. Maybe he just hasn't matured yet? Maybe he is intraverted to start with? Who knows. If I were you, I would stop bringing him to places/putting him in situations he can't handle. Consider his way of life is his religion-of course he's going to resist when you start to press your "beliefs" on him.

I never go there under without 3-4 beers in me, then get there and drink pitchers of beer like a fish.

Try this method, if it doesn't work, he's definitely a fruit.

Doesn't sound so bad to me. I quit going to strip clubs when they quit being "hands off." I don't have people I don't know-even mostly naked women-touch me. I like looking at them, but the lap dance thing is not for me.

Sounds like he's shy and scared of women... I remember when I was years ago. I still don't hit on women, but usually don't have to as they'll talk to me. He'll grow out of it eventually, if not, maybe he is gay lol!

on a serious note, it seems he may just be really shy. he sounds like a frail little guy. maybe he has really high morals instilled in him that makes doing things like going to a strip club seem wrong in his mind. i know i was really shy and had a hard time talking to girls until about a year before i met my wife.

just get him drunk and see how he acts.

+1....When I was a Private in the Army, my room mate was like him. I was 21 and he was 30, joined late in life, stayed at home with mom till he joined the army. He was very religous, it took me a couple of weeks to figure that he was very likely a virgin still, when ever I brought a girl over he would seem very uncomfortable. After I figured it out, I left him alone and respected his beliefs. No point in being a dick about it...

He is probably just insecure... Maybe he is a virgin, maybe he has a small dick, maybe he has some private religious beliefs that make him uncomfortable, maybe he is gay... It doesn't matter. He is your friend and friends accept who the other is and generally don't try to make them uncomfortable.

I had a friend in college who had skin problems, talked with a lisp, had asthma, and never went out with girls except to have platonic fun. He was really smart (triple major and honors in four years), had a great sense of humor, played a great poker game, and was really helpful to me. It did not matter to me if he was gay or not but he never admitted to it and never said anything about it.

He died last year at the age of 49 from cancer. His live in boyfriend was heartbroken.

What matters is how we treat the people that earn our friendship.

He's not gay. he's someone that has lived a very very very sheltered life.

He's got no self esteem and he's very shy and if he's doing something that isn't shy, he's over-compensating for not having self esteem. There's nothing wrong with your friend, he just doesn't know how things are for a lot of other people in the world.

Give him a break. Make sure he's not traumatized TOOO much and take him out again.

His statement, "I'm not desperate like you" says to me that's exactly what he is, and he doesn't sound like he has much by way of confidence.

You said he's 5'4", and 120 lbs. He's borderline midget, and if he's 21, he isn't going to grow much taller, if at all.

He might have "small man" syndrome.....and couple that with no confidence.........you've got your friend.

Maybe you hang out with him because he's so small, and you are the way you are..........so that you look better when you two hang out. Kind of like why a lot of hot chicks like to hang out with fat chicks
