Pewter- 1999 Camaro SS
Gas Mileage
I have a 1999 Camaro SS, it's only getting 19-20 MPG, it's all stock with 71,000 and an auto trans, I see allot of people claiming better MPG, I plan on doing a complete tune real soon in hopes that that will help, any suggestions would greatly be appreciated

I think the 3.73 gear helps me out a lot. I do lots of city driving
It doesn't hurt too bad out on the freeway either... Still get 21-23mpg hwy, otherwise best I have had was 26.6mpg...00 Z28 M6 T-tops

SOM- '01SS Camaro,'09 Z06
I have checked my gas mileage in my 01 SS almost every tank and normally get 21-23 mpg with a 342 rear, mostly highway driving, the best I have gotten was last August coming out of the mountains of western Carolina 26.9 mpg and that was while enjoying the road and the car.
Now here's the hard part to believe I just got an '09 Z06 Corvette and it gets better gas mileage 26-27mpg on the open road. Must be the weight, 505hp and that kind of mileage, anyone who doesn't like the General can kiss my gas.

My car new got like 22mpg. Some claim much more but I wonder what they keep their tires inflated to. Yours seems bout right to me.

Thats pretty good, you need to remember the other people claiming higher are mostly manuals. m6's get higher mpg thats a given then the a4's. I usually get around 18-20 city and I drive pretty hard usually, and around 26-30 depending on highway. I'm a m6 but getting 19-20mpg in a a4 is pretty good, even though I would say you should still be a little higher on the highway

Just check all your normal maintenance stuff like air filter, fuel filter and O2 sensors. When your O2 sensors get old/dirty, they respond slower and can affect mileage.
You also might want to try the FTRA kit we sell. It usually adds 5-7 % better fuel economy and more power tooFast Toys Performance Parts

Mines an M6, and with a combination hwy/city, i get 21ish. And thats playing around. Open hwy is a consistent 28.3 to 28.6mpg. Every time like clockwork.
Like he said though, thats really not too bad for an auto. Might get it up a little, but it'll never be what the M6's get. Good luck though!

On highway on cruise at 80 I get 22mpg. In the city I dont care, I drive like a nut. Last week I was averaging 9 mpg. Yes 9 mpg. Heavy foot and love the exhaust. Wide open throttle sounds freaking great, and the car is a M6. I bought the car for fun, not mpg!!!!!!!!!

Navy Blue Metallic- '00 Formy A4
That actually doesn't sound that bad, it could even be good. Depends on what kind of driving you do.
I work 30 miles away, so I drive 60 miles a day, about 20 highway, the rest 40mph back roads, and I average between 22 and 23mpg. I have an auto with a 2.73 rear, btw.
The more I drive around town, the less mileage I get. If you're mostly driving around town, that would explain the mileage.

Pewter- 2002 Z28
In the last month or 2 I am getting about 165 miles to the tank. I used to always get real close to 200 per tank. Car runs fine and I don't hear any misses. Any ideas. 96K on the car. I assume a tune up is in order, but that seems like a big drop in mileage to me. '02 Z28 stock.

Its about what I get average driving and not highway with the cruise control on.
Go with the tuneup as stated above and it might get you some more MPG.

good for you guys. From January to July I was getting 11-12 mpg in the city and 17 for highway. Now it does 10 city and I'm really afraid of knowing what will it make on highway. By the way my car is stock with 133,xxx miles on it and a 2.73 axle ratio. Tune ups, filters and seafoam have been done. Now for plugs and wires. oh well.....

Have 2 2002 Z28 in the house. Both have A4 both have the 3.23 rear end. My 60 year old mother gets 23-24 on mostly city driving. When mine was stock I got 23-24 on the highway. Best was 26mpg on a 2000 mile trip. After a shift kit and other mods I now get 19-20. A dirty air filter, MAF and TB can cause a loss of MPG. They are all easy to clean.
