Never really liked ElCaminos Much but the one I have caught my Eye because it was a true SS Car. Kinda regreted not saving my money for a 70 Chevelle. Well this guy has one and wants to trade because his brother in New York Really wants my elky. He saw my E-Bay ad and got ahold of me.
Keep you all posted but might have a new Chevelle in the garage this weekend.

2001 3.8 Black - sold- 2000 SS Black M6
a guy i know had a 1970 Chevelle SS in highschool, it was dark grey with black stripes, honestly the most beautiful older car ive ever seen. His dad was always a gear head, and the two had built that car from the ground up this kids whole life. So it was truly his car and he had a real understanding of just what he had.

Keep the original 71 SS, it is the front half of the 70 and a SS.
Well, either way... I love them both! The 71 is low compression... so do
what makes U happy!

NBM / Silver- 00 SS / 71 SS Elcamino
Man got the ole bait and switch pulled on me big time.
Went to look at the car and what the owner negleted to tell me that "all the body work has been completed" meant that he bought 5 gallons of Bondo and applied at will. Been sitting for ? years in nothing but primer, outside with no cover. who knows what lies beneith. Chrome was trashed, engine bay was missing inner fenderwells. Leaves and debris all over the "less than 5000 mile complete rebuild" Interior was ~~ok~~ seats were in ok shape. The B&M shifter looked like a 3rd grader put it in. NO receipts for "all the work done"
Man if he really thinks that POS was worth what my El Camino (appraised @ 14K) is worth Guess I need to start asking $20k for my car because I wouldn't have gave him $4000 for it.
What a waste of time, money, and energy. AGH!!!! Fucking SCAMMERS
For the record, My 402 in my Elcamino is a 1970 10.5:1 compression motor out of my Grandpa's Special ordered Monte Carlo.
Think I will just hang on to My truck. I'd rather have a chevelle but it is a pretty nice truck. Need to start getting it whipped back into shape again, then maybe try selling it again.Last edited by Jays00ss; 04-03-2009 at 06:35 PM.

Ouch man. I know the feeling. Years ago when I was Chevelle shopping, 99% of them had more bondo on them than steel. When I bought mine back in '96, I was actually going to look at a a different Chevelle. When I pulled up to the driveway, he had 2 sitting there. The one I was originally came up to look at waved at us when we got there. TONS of bondo. The one next to it just happened to be a rust-free car from CA. Needless to say, I took that one home
