I've got nothing to back up my arguement other than from guys that have had both, but they said the C5Z felt faster than the C6, even though they have roughly the same peak BHP.

How is Shelby, or a Saleen stock? Last time I checked they are not FORD, but a company that tunes the Mustang. Very similar how Callaway tunes the Vettes. On one note that is sad if you have to compare a stock Chevrolet Camaro/Pontiac Firebird/ Pontiac GTO to a Saleen Mustang, or Shelby Mustang just for the fact that those cars are "tuned" and ours are not. Those cars belong in a catagory with the Henessey Viper, and the Callaway Vette if anything. In my opinion those are the only good Mustangs out of the bunch too. I vote for the new ZR1 Vette to kill them all....dumb ass Fords...

the shelby isnt a tuner car dude. the gt500 just uses shelby badging. The shelby gt500 super snake on the other hand is a tuner car but still has all ford parts on it. So I don't know where you are checking but your source is wrong.

Many guys buy Mustangs because it's instantaneous name recognition to women.

Performance is irrelevant when it comes to that.

Well. The Saleen, Shelby GT-500, and Roush are all "tuned"/"upgraded" by out-sourced companies. Shelby is to Ford as Lingenfelter is to Chevrolet. Sort of. I know what he's saying, and I think that it is ridiculous that the standard Mustang GT and the Camaro are in the same class.

The new V6 Camaro could almost beat out a Mustang GT.

if you are satisfied with 300 hp from a 4.6 modular motor, then ok . . .
if you are a woman, then ok. . .
if you like reverse where "6th" should be, then ok. . .
if your dad had a mustang and you are in love with them because of that, then ok. . .

you're right, a 5.4 Ford gt engine just doesnt compare to an ls1.

Side Note: Is'nt it funny how the Camaro finally gets an independant rear, and the "crustange" still comes with a pickup rear? In my oppy that alone sets the Camaro in an upper class bracket.
Camaro=better power, better handleing, no need for "special" mods from whomever.
