How to tell if it is an LS6 intake
I have a 99 t/a and I'm looking to swap out my LS1 intake with an LS6. I found a guy "claiming" to sell a 2001 z28 intake manifold. Im pretty sure the 01-02 F-bodys all had the LS6 intake? Not too sure about camaros... but anyways im about to get the manifold cheap and he claims nothing to be wrong.
Im trying to find out ways to be able to tell the difference between the two intakes through either pictures or factory part numbers. If you guys had any info on this id appreciate it so that way I dont get robbed for another LS1 intake.
P.S. I know towards the front there is a spot for the egr to enter on LS1s and i tried looking at his pic but he has some chrome decorative LS1 box covering that whole area... thats what has me wondering about it?

I don't think any fbody, other than a rare few, came with an ls6 manifold but I could be wrong (lfastcamaross11 cleared it up, it was the block).
I know you can tell the difference from the bottom - the ls6 is flat while the ls1 has a hump.Last edited by onetroubledguy; 03-21-2009 at 09:45 PM.

someone correct me if im wrong but i thought all 01's and 02's came with ls6 intake manifolds. it was a rare few that came with ls6 engine blocks. i thought thats been seen as a reason why the 01 & 02s perform a little better is that the manifold flowed better than the ls1 manifold

02-02 had no EGR, and the ls6 intake, if yours is an 01-02 it has the ls6 intake.

all 01-04 f-bods/gto's/vettes came w/ an ls-6 manifold
here is what the bottom looks like dead freakin giveaway, ls1 manifolds have a hill in the center w/ a vally on either side instead of flat.

Black on black- 2000 Trans Am WS6
Just wanted to say thanks for the pic on here. I am also looking at getting an LS6 intake and wanted to know what to look for to make sure it was a true LS6.
