Hood Insulation
Is it me or does the Ram Air WS.6 hood not come with hood insulation? I've been searching on the forum but to no luck. As far as i can see in the pics on the bird with the standard hood have the insulation and not on the Ram Air.
Can anyone concur with my observation? Reason i ask, is im paying to get my hood repainted since the clear started to peel off.
thanks

I have seen it with it and my ram air hood accepts it and it looks like ASS on it.

Well i was just asking to see if it makes a difference with the factory paint peeling off with out it? I just hate my car to be in less than show condition when i use it.
Basically will buying the hood insulation prevent the clear coat from peeling?

I've never seen a Ram Air hood that had insulation.

mine's peeling and bubbling and i think it's from lack of insulation. when i repaint hood, i'm going to get insulation for it more than likely if it doesn't mess anything up.

I don't like the look of insulation so I'm glad it wasn't a factory option on the WS6 hood. I'm not sure why your clear is peeling - maybe there's another issue?

I have aftermarket Ram Air with no insulation that I painted myself. I have had no paint problems at all, even with the heat in Houston. Although I do have a 160 degree stat so my engine does run alot cooler that it used to. My guess would be you car has one of those special GM paint jobs like my blazer had. My paint just started falling off one day and never stopped. I actally go a free paint job since apparently i wasn't the only one.

True.
As far as paint peeling because of this, I realize it may be a combination of problems such as when my power steering was leaking and blowing all over one part of my hood. I'm just saying with insulation, that leak would not have touched the paint
Good news is that the leak seems to be fixed now though.
