Well, This Is A Bummer :-(
My roof on my 2001 SS is now showing the bubbles
It has never been there and I thought maybe mine was going to dodge the problem.
Now it's there and my car is over the 6 year paint warranty, even though I'm still under 100k.
~$900 out of pocket to fix GM's screwup, seeing as how the WHOLE ROOF has to be replaced
Grrrrrr....

I'd like to see the pictures of this. You have a hardtop I assume right? What is the procedure for the fix?

Nope, mine is a T-top car.
The hardtops are affected too.
I'll try to get pics this weekend.
The TSB is #03-08-98-001 and affects all F-bodies from '99 through 2002.
The fix involves replacing the entire sail panel.
GM used a glue that delaminates and the vapors come up through the paint.
If you have your current panel repainted, the problem comes back.
Gotta replace the whole thing.

This has to do with the glue used right?
There are some cars that have 'dodged' the situation aren't there? Or, are we all doomed to go through this?

Heh... you edited your post to include the glue while I was posting

Any car in that range CAN be affected.
There are sub-20k mile cars that have always been garaged that have the issue, as well as others that have always been outside that do not.
I think that all will eventually have the problem since the same glue was used on all of them.
Environment is likely what brings about the symptoms at different times.

Well, so far I'm good. My car sleeps outside. No room in the garage.
Guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed.

I have them too.... My dealers warranty rep was going to split cost with me to fix it, but he didn't like the idea of me painting the panel body color instead of keeping it black. It's not too bad unless you are really looking for it.
