Put the truck in reverse, stab the gas get it up to 50mph and run it into a wall. If that dont fix it nothing will, and I agree, more GM crap ideas....LOL

Pull the fuse for the actuator for about 2min (all the 4x4 fuses, sometimes it's hard to figure out which one it is) to clear out the memory. After a few years (on past GM trucks) they get a brain fart. A reset will fix it about 90% of the time. If the truck sits for long periods of time or the 4x4 doesn't get used much moisture can give it issues. On my trucks i like to use 4x4 once every few months to keep stuff working.

So this morning I went out and started it and switch it to 4hi and then put it in reverse and it didn't change so I got pissed and just put it in neutral and it switched. wtf. I did that like 6 times last night. I dont know about the previous owners but I have had the suv since last July and this first snow in January is the first time I used the 4 wheel drive. I mean it's only an 05. It's 4low that sticks, everything else switches out fine.

i have heard a lot of stories about GM SUVs and transfer cases. I have an 05 trailblazer, and it was starting to sound kind of clunky when I was switching a couple weeks ago, so i went and had them service the transfer case. now it doesnt sound like things are wanting to snap whenever i switch. mine has also done what you are describing before, but I just got her rolling in N as described above and it finally decided to kick out of 4lo.... glad to hear u got it out of 4 lo tho. i guess the lesson here is to never use 4lo lol

The electric shift transfer cases like to be shifted in and out of 4lo with the transmission in neutral and the vehicle stopped. Or maybe it's just mine.

I'm not trying to be a smartass taylor but just double check that you are operating the system as its supposed to work. I've had plenty of customers with 4x4 issues where it was a matter of them just not reading the manual on how its supposed to work. My guess is you have a bad relay

Shit, i still have to open the owners manual to figure out how to take my dodge out of 4low. 4 high is easy, just throw the lever back into 2hi.

I use 4 lo in mine when I'm backing my camper in somewhere. It's nice to just let the clutch out and ride the brake back nice and slow into a spot.

^^ Werd... I have 2 4x4 tahoe's & a Z-71. I have always used 4HI, unless, Like Mike said, I need to move a HEAVY load (like my john deere or our military 5-ton fire truck)... or Climbing a steep incline.
Only 4x4 Noobs use 4LO for snow or mudding.
On a side note:
You can always tell the wheelin' Noobs by the fact you can hear 4LO before they ever leave the blacktop

Good to hear your 4 low isnt sticking. Hope you didnt drive far with that on. Where did you go/ get stuck where you needed 4 low? 4 high is all you really need unless the situation really requires.

Its handier than people realize. I used it ALL the time, especially in something that underpowered. It was great in the summer for backing things up or mild offroading.
