i Like american cars and I like japanese cars, not a huge fan of german cars.
I have a Nissan Murano for a DD and its a really good vehicle... i would like my next car to be an infiniti G37x coupe (always plan on keeping the TA though)
I say just buy what you like because they are all just a shit-mix of parts from various parts of the world assembled in a different part of the word and shipped to yet another part of the world haha... they're all shitboxes so you may as well just buy what you like and can afford.

Hondas run forever!!!! Yeah, O.K., but that is only true if you take care of it just like anything else. Quality and finish? Maybe you all have to high of standards? I am happy with the fit, finish and quality of every new GM product on the road. I buy GM because that is what I like and I have no problem running them until the floor boards rot out and to prove a point that GM's CAN LAST FOREVER!!!

90% of stockholders in foreign companies are americans anyway
so really, buying imports ure supporting wealthy americabuying american, ure supporting wealthy americans. plus... like said above our cars are usually made else where anyway, mine was made in canda. nothing is "American" anymore unless u go to the little stands by the side of the road to buy you're fruits and or veggies

My TL is a Japanese car, but ti is made right in the USA - Marysville OH to be exact. So by buying a car that is made in america, regardless of who makes it - keeps our mid west peeps in decent paying jobs.

buy whatever, all new cars are junk anyhow. but theres a reason toyota is now the number one manufacturer in the US... their cars are superior to domestic.

japanese cars are of higher quality then american stuff. I'll give em that. I love american performance cars. But in general, I say buy whatever you want. Its your money. Buying something just because its american often just encourages american car makers to keep producing garbage.

Dude just cause ya like fbodies and vettes and stuff doesnt mean that everything that comes out of american factories is great stuff. Chrysler has came out with some real crap in the last 15 yrs. GM has had some pretty weakass interiors. Ford has made some real shit trannies. They've all made products that the consumer doesnt want.

nissan use jatco and aisin transes, those are good and used in most of the japanese manufacturers.
Ford might make weaker engines in most of their vehicles, but taken care of they last. GM makes great engines too. In engine longevity both FORD and GM I think do a very good job, as good as any other manufacturer save for maybe a select few engines that have their problems.
Chrysler quality, I just haven't been impressed with it the last several years. I dont even like their LX platform aka 300, charger etc yes the challenger is based on that platform too but I think they are sharp looking.

just to clarify, is my toyota camry that was made in kentucky considered foreign and my camaro made in canada considered domestic?
i love GM trucks and performance vehicles, but think their low end vehicles (like cavaliers/cobalts) are problematic. i gave up the ghost on my 1993 v6 grand am GT at150k miles after numerous problems and when the transmission went out for the second time (and i am a stickler when it comes to maintenance). her i am at 152k miles on my camry and not one decent problem.
