I have never even seen an airbag go off just driving over a curb. I had a Pontiac Grand Am a few years ago. Great daily driver when you wanna save mileage. I had a few too many drinks and took right going like 50 and the tires broke loose. I went up a 4 or 5 inch curb and took down a picket fence and had no airbag blow on me. Hell smashed 3 rims and drove home on 2 flats.
I do paint and body work (toyota certified)and have never even seen a bag blow over 5 to 7 mph. Hell Ive seen some smash front ends from 15 to 20 mph crashes with no bags blowing. I would recommend my usual airbag fix after you fix it(do it to almost all my cars) pull the airbag fuse. Pontiac can build a fast car but the jap cars have much better airbag sensors.

Ya ya i did i just droped it off at the body shop tonight about 30 mins afther the wreck. I just googled a body shop and when i showed up there they had a 200k twin turbo 69 camaro, and a 200k 55 vette. There body work was great, so ill post some pics when it gets done. The bumper was already messed up so it will get fix and done right..... Any ways my fiance made me take her to the place it happens to show her what i hit and why i was there i snaped a pic

wow I feel bad for you man. At least everything is fixable. I ran over a curb like that one time in a old daily driver that I had and man did it sound horrible..no airbag but the sound and jolt was pretty bad.....glad to see you didnt get hurt, airbags can cause some damage

Yeah I would either pull the fuse or have the body shop put a new sensor in because after what happened with it blowing over a curb the sensor must be bad. just some more of GM's great long lasting electrical parts. Between that sensor, the great power windows, and the annoying electrical issues I have in my trailblazer I wonder if one day neither car will start and I'll have to take my girlfrinds Mazda 3. At least my work van isn't made by GM so I always get to work in the morning.

I work 3rd shift now, and since I got my car a few months back I was having a blast driving it back n forth to work. Well getting home every morning was always a challenge. Took lots of parking lot naps.
Anyways I made it to my street one day and next thing I know.... Boom
I hit a curb doing probally 15-25 mph and no airbag..... thank god

Wow, now I know why two stage air bags had to be developed. That's crazy to release that much power for deployment all at once. Ouch !!!!
I hope that you and your CETA get well soon. ;-)

So there insurance company cut me a check for 7500 to have everything done. New bumper whole new dash the whole front end is going to be re painted. There putting in a new k member they are going to use a factory one but I think im going to ask them to put in a BMR one I’m thinking the one for turbo clearance.. Anything I need to know about these?
