srt8 jeep
Ok this isnt a kill but I was suprised! Last night I was at the Orlando drag strip for their street race/test n tune night. There was a guy there with a brand new Jeep Cherokee SRT8, and on his first run ran a single cab hemi ram. The jeep spanked the ram and laid down a 13.38 in the 1/4. Not bad if you were to race him with a stock LS1, you might get embarassed. I have to admit I was pretty impressed, more so than with the bi-turbo mercedes sl65 that was out there. Anyways I thought I'd share since there is a bit of discussion here about the SRT8 powered vehicles.

that is gay in my opinion. no way would i run a 13.4 with my TA, i think it takes something away from "sports cars" when a stock jeep is capable of beating them! dodge has gone too far!

i just looked it up, they have 420 hp, that is crazy...i don't know why they gear the jeep like that unless that guy had a different rear end or transmission or both? my dad's f250 has somewhere around 280hp i think, but i'd hate to try to pull a load like he can pull with my firebird! i'd hvae to think that jeep wouldn't be too great on off roading then...kinda defeating the point of owning a JEEP

you can't look at an srt8 as a "jeep" it isn't the jeep an offroader would buy, it's another optional line of jeep. I think it's badass. Chrylser ain't f'n around anymore

Hell I think its pretty cool. I am a full time Realtor and I know that my SS is not the best car for that job. I dont plan on getting rid of it but I am considering my next vehicle be an suv. I was thinking about the new Trailblazer SS but now the Jeep is at the top of my list too.

They are freakin cool and with the AWD they will spank alota stuff from light to light. There was a black one at our dealership for a few days before someone got it and is now out having fun. I've ridden in an srt8 300 and that 6.1 is one bad mother worthy of the HEMI letters on the black valve covers and the hemi orange block

how would the srt8 compare to a TB SS? one is 405hp one is 420hp, but that jeep has to weight a couple hundred pounds more... and they are both available in AWD...
so what does the 0-60, quarter mile, and skid pad look like on thes things?

The skidpad on the TB- .81 and the jeep-.88 but could not have the stability system completly disabled.
