Wood Grain shift knob?
Sooo i was thinking about it today and the fact is i kinda really want a woodgrain shifter now. Bad part about this is i have no idea where to go about getting one. The inside of my car is black and tan so i figured the woodgrain shifter would look classy and not galdie. Anyway a woodgrain ball or a woodgrain ball with the 6 speed marks in the top or a woodgrain 8 ball would all be wounderful if anyone knows where to get any of the above?

buy a wooden ball and drill a hole in the bottom and glue a nut with the right threading in the hole burn the pattern into it stain it varnish it and that should be done

My buddy has a woodgrain interior kit tha came with his trans am. It looks terrible. It is extremely out of place on performance, car, much less an an f body. I honestly think woodgrain would be trying too hard, BUT it did come with a woodgrain shifter. It isn't on the car and he'd prolly be more than happy to sell it to you. Let me know if you'd like me to contact him
And btw i have no idea where it came from cause it's a 94 and that kit was put on years before he bought it. I hope i don't sound offensive but dude the company prolly went out of business.Last edited by chevyss1234; 12-08-2008 at 12:04 PM.

um yeah i asked him last night about it. i'll just paste what he said:
"I will sell him any of my wood BS when i pull it off.
The wood shifter literally split it half when i grabbed second real hard with it. LOL!"
.... i'd leave the woodgrain alone dude but that's just my opinion.
this guy i know with a 3 series bought some fake suede fabric and did parts of his doors and his roof liner using spray adhesive. It looked perfect, had an awesome look and even felt very nice. That looked classy as hell and it was way different. I think thats performance car classy as long as you keep it subtle and it's relatively cheap man. Again just my opinion.
the more i tell you about it the more i want to do it haha.

i heard that if you install a wood-grained shift knob, you car will spontaneously combust out of pure hatred towards the owner for doing something so ugly and tasteless. thats even more severe than putting black wheels with polished lips on a car and seeing what happens...
that makes me sad...

Do you really like a round woodgrain shift knob? You can actually customize a block of wood and shape it like a shoe. You get me. You just need more time doing it.

I've seen woodgrain. Personally it's not for me and it does throw the interior off. With an F body, the coolest thing I have seen would be carbon fiber looking.

Why not get a nice heavy Stainless Steel shift knob from TWM? Their a lot nicier than the MBA aluminum shift knobs I've had before. But their pricey!
