    Headers and Exhaust

I have a 2002 Trans Am and wanted to add some hp to it with new headers and cat back exhaust. Anyone have a good idea what kind I should get that would get me my best results? I would like something that is going to add some good hp, without breaking the bank. Any input would be great. I just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Northern rust spell makes stainless a must

Considering the fact that you're up north and get rust spell, I would make stainless a must. Anything stainless will be more expensive but it'll last.

depends on if he drives his car in the winter........i dont even drive mine in the rain but i live in the snowbelt ....stainless definilty not nessesary for me...........question for everyone.............nobody ever talks about weight..... pacesetters vs the stainless big boys ( kooks, qtp, etc etc) ....how much of a weight difference because of material thickness and type???

The car does not get driven during the winters, and very seldom gets driven in the rain. I would not see the need to spend the extra money on the stainless steel, unless a person is sold on looks. I would also like something that would give off a nice rumble sound, but not be loud enough to where you would hear me from a mile away.

pacesetter painted long tubes 260 bucks.....but youll need a catted Y pipe if u wanna keep the sound down...there a lil more costly than they should be......non catted Y is only 130 bucks..but itll be very loud and a lil raspy..........id like to pick up these headers myself BUT i cant find a catted Y for a reasonable price that will fit

Get the headers put them on. Buy the cats you want and then tow it or drive it to an exhaust shop and have them custom install the cats and Y so it will mate up with the cat back in the right location. You will search until the end of time for a catted Y pipe for long tube headers that won’t break the bank. Since you don't want stainless an exhaust shop will save you time and money. My father in law has done this to like 5 different vettes since I met him. always long tubes and a custom exhaust on back.
