rear seat delete idea
Ok... so i kinda drew this off something i saw posted here a while back, bear with me its a crappy photoshop but... i think ittl convey what im thinking about... the firebird emblem is gonna be done with plexiglass and have some sort of l.e.d. or neon configuration behind it to make it glow at night. Im still not settled i want to do it that way or just embos it into the carpet... tell me what you guys think. The delete would pretty much come off the rear shelf, and slant down at an angle... I know it looks a little ricey in the picture but im thinking i can give it a nice clean finished look actually in the car... keep in mind these arent the subs and amp i plan on going with either, just easy pictures to photoshop... opinons, suggestions, critisism, ill take it lol...

wow thank you thats very helpful... as you may have noticed I have a thread very similar to this aswell... thanks for the drawing that helps me make up my mind alot... I have a little more tideous work to do because of the convertible back seat side panels... I have lights and speakers I have to make sure the box doesn't cover up.
what were you planning on making the box out of? I want to keep mine as light as possible...

I've been holding off on deleting my rear seat, due to the fact that I don't know what I want to do, but I love the angle of the board you mocked up. If you wouldn't mind (when you're done) sending me a paper outline of the board so I can make the same cut and save myself a lot of work, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

i think if i did a rear seat delete. . .i would want something with some storage . . a few tools, cleaning accessories, etc. this all in a low profile type "box" . . . for me it would be a good idea. . you cant see my rear seat bottms right now, i have so much crap in there.

hey man I've done lots of fab work in the past......stop by CVS or a craft store and pickup several sheets of poster board and a roll or two of masking tape.... its a lot easier to cut and tape the paper to get the patterns you want.
get your basic boxes and trays cut and put in place, then use the poster board pattern to cutout a perfect piece (or pieces) of smooth interior house paneling to cover your subframe and boxes.
cheap felt sheets put between the separate pieces will stop squeeks and rattles.
hope my hints help!
