Sept Update....
Greeting All,
It's been quite some time since I've worked on the Lumina. This Summer I started a second business, selling 49 cc Scooters. This has taken almost every minute of spare time I have outside of my regular 9-5 Tool and Die job.
My Sales are starting to Slow down now and I've recently purchased a Building to store my Delivery Truck, corvette, z28, 66 duece, and it has enough room to stock pile and Sell Scooters, Quads, and motorcycles. I hope to have an update on the Lumina within a few weeks.

Thanks concretegolfer.
Greetings Everyone.
Well winter is slowly coming on(it's supposed to 80 here today), and my Sales haven fallen off for my Scooter Shop so this past Saturday it was time to get back to the Lumina. The day started with getting the welder out for it's final run. We wrapped up a few spots left in the trunk then we finished putting a patch in the Passenger rear Quarter, Last we had some interior panels under the Roof to weld.
I spent Saturday Evening working with a Dutch Slapper and some dies planishing the welds on the Quarter, after I was happy with the welds I moved on to the Comstock Shrinking Disk. About an hour and a half was spent on the Disk to get the Quarter straightened out. A thin layer of filler over the seam and it was done. Everyone should own a Shrinking Disk, this is the Best Tool in my Arsenol.
This week will be dedicated to getting the car in primer. Also had a change of Plan as to the color of the car, I love the Midnight Blue I had picked but I've decided to go Black.

This will be quite interesting. reminds of the guy who put a complete corvette drivetrain into a honda, and the guy who built his own Hummer off of a 80's Ford F-series.
you're doing great so far.

Major Leap Forward
Major Leap Forward
Spent Friday Night, Saturday, and Sunday Early a.m. hours till 4:00 this morning getting the car to this point. It may not look like much more than some primer shot on some car but to me I feel as if a milestone has been reached. I still have tons of work to do such as; ground effects need cut and glued, the rear windows need to be made, I need a Dash Pad Really Bad, the Bumper Covers have not been started, and the Dreaded Interior.
I'm using the Trans Am Carpet, it's one piece and covers the entire floor, gas tank, and trunk. It will need minor trimming to the rear because of trunk mods. The headliner can be cut to fit since the third brake light is being omitted, that's an easy fix. Where the challenge comes in is around the Dash. The door panels for the Lumina Doors have to be altered in order to use them(they hit the dash). There is no rear side panels that fit the new modified windows, nor panels for the sides(next to where the seats used to be. Remember there is no room for a rear seat anymore.
So what do I do with all that open Space? I was thinkking fabricated panels including some Special Embossing. Maybe include some nice Speakers, Amps, Dummy Roll Cage??? Any Ideas???
Here's my Pictures, Your Comments and Criticism are Welcome.
This is the Chopped Quarter! Before and After Picures...
These Last Pictures are the Roof that was Cut and Shortened 6.4 Inches. This Picture does not doe it Justice. The Incredible Power of a Shrinking Disk is Unbelievable. If you don't have one yet, and plan on cutting or sectioning a Low Crown Panel that is the Tool IMO You must have.

The Body is done, the car goes to the Paint Booth this Monday.
Paint is going to be Midnight Blue as originally planned.
Hopefully I'll have some pictures by the end of next week. There is a lot of areas that have to be painted, we figure 3 days to get all the door jambs, window frames, inside doors, underside of hood and deck lid, inside trunk jambs...and so on.
Down to waiting.........
