brings up an interesting point. Hyundai was testing a RWD V8 Tiburon, and i was ready to accept it in the club.

The 3000GT frustrates me.. because it looks like it "should" be a V8, RWD car lol. So does the Supra.. but its really hard to deny how good that turbo'd engine is for potential.

Hyundai is coming out with a genesis coupe which will be rwd and have a 3.8 v6 that makes 300+ horses, and and a 2.0 turbo 4 that makes 225. They just came out with their first v8 this year the 4.6 liter tau engine, which makes 375 horses for use in the genesis luxury sedan. I wonder when they did a rwd v8 tiburon? I doubt that 4.6 would fit in a tiburon but I could be wrong. any links on this?

I was impressed with the Genesis, just thought it was priced too high for a Hyundai. I believe it was Car and Driver that was reporting it. they had photos of a possible RWD configuration. not sure if i can find the article, but i'll see.

"Just look at these spy photos: huge wheels, fat tires, fastback lines, dual exhausts, and most telling, distinct rear-drive proportions. Add in serious power from a high-output V-6 and quite possibly the 4.6-liter V-8 from the upcoming Genesis luxury sedan with which the new coupe will reportedly share its architecture (and which is parked right next to it in some of these shots), and even a Hemi 'Cuda owner will admit that we're talking about a muscle car here. "

it's been a while since i read the article (August, 07). so yeah, a lot of things could have changed...

Its not the actual Tiburon that would be a V8, RWD car tho. Its its replacement based on the Genesis's platform. It will appeal to a completely different market, so they have to change the name up.. especially on a new platform with a completely different power plant.

either way, a RWD V8 car from Hyundai would suggest that the muscle car days are not over with, and it will improve the image of Hyundai instead of a cheap, foriegn, rice burner.....now if they make some full size trucks.

Well the basis of the Z car is that its name represents what size engine is in the car. The 2.6L in the 260, 2.8L in the 280, 3.0L in the 300, 3.5L in the 350... and now the 3.7L in the next 370Z. So actually... by that logical, the next Z car after the 370Z could very well be a V8 and be properly named in the 400 range.

You are referring to the genesis coupe. No v8 for sale in it. 3.8 with 300+
