F*&%*^ Cobalt
The power steering went gay on me, very hard to turn. Has anyone that has one or had one ever encounter this problem? And how did you fix it?
Dont answer with check fluid, cause I'll stab you in the eye if I ever meet you
Thanks

fuses, relays, etc all good? that's a rather important system so there has to be some redundancy in it if it's electrical. if a fuse were to blow something would have to back it up so that 80 pound granny doesn't piledrive into a herd of kids crossing the street to school.
any broken wires or shorts etc? what about a sensor on the pump or steering system having gone bad?

We've had a few do the same thing that come into the dealership. I don't service them but I can tell you that almost everyone that comes in with the same problems have the power steering motor replaced.

are you a good customer of the dealer? they might goodwill it if its a known issue. You are just barely out of warranty. If this is a common problem GM needs to pony up and fix this cause its a safety issue. Normally an auto manufacturer will take care of issues like this past the warranty period if they get enough people bitching about it. I have heard that this particular model has a lot of electrical issues.
