SLP Alternative
What other lids are out there other than an SLP? I keep hearing of the problems with it and it's a little discouraging.

MTI... FastToys but you need an adapter unless you go 85mm MAF and then you might aswell go 90mm TB and 90mm Intake gets rather expensive

SLP lid has no more problems than any other.
SLP lid is one of the best fits.
All lids MUST be installed correctly or the clips won't stay closed.
All lids with a straight bellows are going to be a problem fitting because it's not a straight line from MAF to TB & there's no flex.
I don't see a reason to be discouraged with an SLP lid after running mine for 8 years.

Sebring Silver Metalic- 2002 Camaro Z28
I have no idea what lid I have, bought it used on ebay.
I can say SLP can't be any worse than mine, and mine has given me no troubles.
The only time a clip come of is when I pop the hood, and its only one clip that does it occasionally. My clips just seem old and worn out, like every part on my car, .

If you have problems with a SLP lid you dont have it installed right. I have heard of them hitting the hood but that has been because of the smooth bellow. 5 years and no trouble.

dude i remember long time ago i read that the slp was preety much the best air lid. they did some tests and it came out on top, even though its only about 5 horse increase. i think it was gm hightech mag. people only really complain about slp is the headers that hang too low, and false horsepower gains with the air intake kit. so u should go with slp on tha lid im savin up fpr mines cant wait hahahahah.

+1... i have thier lid... only problem i got is a very small spot where it rubs my hood... about the size of "0" that... other than that they clamp down nice and tight and fit snug in all other places... i love my slp lid... only other lid i'd ever get would be a clear one...

From my expierence I think lids are good as far as some SLP products are concerned.
I have read on here that SLP lids are kinda a copy of whisper so they should be about the same.

I have an SLP lid and have had no issues at all. Also, I am running a straight bellow without fitment issues. The lid fits great. I have heard of minor fitment issues when people have used the straight bellow though. Nothing that couldn't be fixed by taking a little off the ends of the bellow though.

i run an slp lid, it seals everywhere well. only problem is that, as stated above, it rubs the hood a little bit.

Instead of a lid, I've got a K&N intake on my WS6 (http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku).
Works, fits, no problems. More expensive, but worth thinkin about.
