Red- 99 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28
Any nitro powered r/c truck fans?
i recently obtained a traxxas revo 3.3 4wd nitro truck....this is not my first, but it has been about 3 years since my last one...wondering who else is into these lil things, and if anyone can point me in the direction of some good forums or websites....i got mine from a guy in a walmart parkinglot for a helluva deal, cuz he didnt kno how to tune (he was an electric type of guy) so im currently trying to tune to get it where it needs to be...right now its rich and fouls out glow plugs like no other....

I used to love those things... well, I still do, I just dont have the extra cash to spend on them... you might want to pick up an infrared temp gun... you can fine tune the shit out of them if you have one.

i had it going good one day. but she was pry just a shy lean and overheated enough to burn the glow plug out...put in a new glow plug and richened it up, but now the idle incresed with it? haha weird. so im just trying to get the idle to slow down enough to let reverse engage again, cuz this thing apparently has a electronic tranny in it....theres a sensor that allows it to shift from 1st gear to 2nd...or from 1st to reverse, only when the engine is at certain speeds as to not cause damage to itself...pretty advanced fr some little truck haha

wait, is this a RWD or an AWD? I've never heard of the RWDs having trannys like that, but I have been out of the loop for a few years.
And you could be leakin a bit on one of the adjustment screws... you might want to replace it and the seal...

lmao, no trailer driving for me....those damn toxic exhaust fumes. haha. im running 20% thru it right now. it is fun driving it thru the truck stops and get truckers approach you like your a clebrity or something asking what it is and everythin like that. its kinda embarrassing when i wheelie it past a truck then it dies and wont restart for like an hour

If it is a stock Revo, you want to try and set it about 4 turns out to start. Then you need to set the fine needle to get the throttle response at the same time watching the temp. I run mine about 210 degrees but it is a big block on a T-Maxx chassis.
Those TRX's are fast as hell but the engines don't last long.

i did some tuning today, out of shear boredom. haha. but i got it running really strong, and its staying right around 190 for temps. i dont wana lean it out much more, cuz its right at about 2 7/8 from full closed. it runs awesome, starts right up now, no more fouling glo plugs, but ran the battery dead on the truck. oh well, but its running a ton better
