Power Steering Fluid Leak
my power steering fluid is leaking
ive gone through a few bottles of fluid before i had a chance to really look at it
it starts leaking as soon as the car starts up and turns
i have some pictures of where the leak is coming from but it was a difficult spot to put the camera
its leaking in two spots from the pipes. both are red arrowed
what should i do
theres two pictures that have a good view of it, the others are just the general areaNo Replacement For Displacement

replace the hoses is about all you can do. There are a couple of options though, factory replacements that will leak again in the same spot. OR custom hoses and fitting from a hydrolic supplier like Areoquip. Way better hose and product then what you would get other wise. Probably costs the same too.

leak
Cannt really tell from photo but could be leaking from the resevoir, the pump and resevoir are 2 differant pieces and the seal detween the to could be the culprut, in that case have to pull the power steering pump and see.

I replaced my power steering pump a few weeks ago and just noticed a leak that seems to be coming from underneath the reservoir. I was wondering if there is supposed to be some sort of gasket or O ring between the reservoir and the pump. I don't recall one being there when I did the swap...
Could I use some sort of RTV there. Those 2 side clips hold it down pretty good, but it still has a slow drip...
I'm really not looking forward to removing the power steering pump again!!!!

Suppose to use O-ring but you could use a little bit of rtv as well.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I guess when I removed the stock pump I did not notice it there. I'm usually very careful about things like that...
Now the question is where to get the proper O-ring and finding the time to tear into it again...

The "O" ring.
Go to www.gmpartsdirect.com
I get all my replacement parts from them and they are WAY cheaper than dealer.
I have a bad leak too and I think I know where it is coming from. I've replaced my pump with a Turn One performance pump and new hoses but I think my leak is coming from the gear box. There are about 5 seals in the box and I'm thinking mine are shot. No time to tear that up now so I'll just keep feeding it fluid.

I got the complete O-ring kit from Napa for $12. I installed the reservoir O-ring and backed it up with some black RTV just to be safe...
No more leak!...
