dude you are asking for trouble I learned along time ago never come between a girl and her mom.. No matter how mad they are there is a bond you wont and shouldnt want to break.. Not to mention Karma turning her in is just bad karma.. Try killing her with kindness and reason with her Im sure her parents are thinkin that they are protecting her..

actually her name isnt on the title, until its paid in full, until then its the banks car. life lesson or two learned on ls1.com
you dont own anything until you pay off the debt you put urself in to get it, unless ya paid cash thats the only way you OWN a car (or anything else purchased) right off the bat.
and by saying "her name is on the title" im assuming you mean loan? because thats the only way it would be on the "title" for now, so really if its repoed its not "their loss" its actually hers, because thats REALLY bad on your credit, you wont get another car loan for a very long time with a repo, or atleast any good car worth buying...Last edited by ls1blackbeauty98; 09-03-2008 at 05:18 AM.

i wouldnt even date someone who talks about my mother the way you do about hers. no matter what she did, as stated above family is the strongest bond you'll ever come across. a mother and daughter is something i wouldnt wanna come between if i were you, blood is thicker then water

Also, just remember that the apple never falls very far from the tree except the rarest of circumstances. Chances are, she'll end up just like her mother.
Besides, you're 19 years old. You don't need this kind of drama.

For real man stay out of that shit. If her payments are relatively low and isn't 6 years long then why would she want to get out of that? If you trade that in the dealer is going to bend you over and fuck you over hard core. Don't co-sign for her either as stated above.

You guys dont know a lot of the situtation and thanks to a member on her I found out she was lied to again...
"2001 cavalier..... was in an accident in 2006 and apparently totalled. the odometer was rolled back about 20k miles from like 70k to 50k. it had a salvage title issued.
10/13/2006 51,685 Tennessee
Motor Vehicle Dept.
Nashville, TN
Title #S0476392 New owner reported
JUNK TITLE/CERTIFICATE ISSUED
DISMANTLED TITLE ISSUED
REBUILT TITLE ISSUED
INCONSISTENT ODOMETER READING "
I guess the term "just trust me" needs to apply here. and I have always been right.. BTW. Her dad has been in and out of jail for years and her mom has been going to the doctor for all kinds of PTSD and bipolar disorders.
Get this BS. Her mom used to throw away the stuff I bought her.
I get the "im just 19" but I always work my actions over with my parents/friends/family before I do anything.
Anyway Thanks for the help guys about the insurance. I thought I was right and now that I have found out that I am right pisses me off even more..

Did you (or she) run a car fax before buying?
Do you (or does she) have in writing that they stated no accident, no odo roll back?
If the answer is no to either one of those, you (or she is) are screwed.
It sounds like she bought the car at some corner car lot, and has shit credit and the loan is originated through a section 8 lender.
No amount of "You lied to her!" or any other nonsense is going to prevail here.
It doesnt change the fact that she isn't carrying enough insurance on the car.
It doesn't change the fact her parents are space cadets.
Best thing to do in this situation is to back away, regroup, and figure a way out.

BTW, whose name is on the loan? I can't see where that has been answered. I know you've said it's on the title, but that doesn't sound right. Since, legally, the car doesn't become anyone's property until the loan is paid off (i.e. I think the name of the loan company appears until it's paid off and the title is issued to the actual owner)

This thread is driving me all kinds of crazy.
I'm really trying to help you out here, so don't take offense:
Fact:
Full coverage is required by law (and the loan originator) on any vehicle that has a lien against it. If the vehicle does not carry full coverage, the lender will take out full coverage and tack it on to the life of the loan. There WILL be interest charged on this.
Fact:
From what I can tell, the loan is in the mothers name. It does not matter if the daughter pays the car note every month AND the insurance. The insurance only notes who is the primary driver (the daughter). The fact that the daughter pays the insurance premium and the car note does not matter. All that matters as far as ownership of the car is whose name is on the bill every month.
Fact:
The name on the title of the car is the loan originator. At pay off, the name of the person that is on the title will be who the car was sold to (i.e. her mother).
Fact:
It does not matter as to the character of her parents. They could be the spawns of Satan himself. The could kick puppies daily. Knock over little old ladies. It's irrelevant to the legalities of the discussion. I realize you're trying to generate sympathy and hear lots of "You go man! They're wrong wrong wrong! Take it to them!", but it really does not matter. At all.
If you really want to get back at them, stop payment on the car. Stop payment of insurance. Let it get repo'd. That's ONLY if the daughters name is not on the loan anywhere as either the primary or secondary.

I understand what your saying. I brought it up to her today and she said and I quote " Well the loan is in your gfs grandmothers name and they said since they had a quite of bit of money in the savings account at the bank that they didnt require full coverage" I called BS again.. this thread was started just making sure that full coverage was required and thanks for those people that answered.
