That looks really cool!
Just painted mine last week with a rattle can. After I sanded it down I painted it twice. I used 1200 degree rust-oleum high heat paint, flat silver. A silver intake looks good in the engine bay, it draws attention away from other things one would hope other people overlook.
It looked awsome until the fuel line for the N20 leaked alittle during install, now I have to do some touch up on it. Still yours looks way better than mine does.
Next thing for me is to take that danm SLP sticker off the box, and clean that too.

well thanks, but to me it's looked to same forever, this post is pretty old.
i suppose i'll tear the headlights off this winter and maybe try the whistler mod or rip off the sidemolding....just small stuff
needs retinted too
oh yea, i plan on getting rid of these stripes. they are fading on the rear and i want something else. i like what stripes can do for a car, but they could look way better than this. perhaps the style the 5th gen has, with the pinstriping!
i did quite a few things to it before i actually painted it, did you use a primer. i used a high fill primer on mine if i remember rightLast edited by allbaugh_04; 09-03-2008 at 03:00 PM.

Blue 1997 Trans Am(Sold)- Pewter 2001 Trans Am Vert
I really like how this intake turned out... I have a newb question what did you do for sanding? and also what kind of paint did you use? I want to do something similar to a FAST intake and am unsure what to use for paint to make sure it doesn't peal or bubble a paint shop suggested powder coating but that seems a little extreme...
thanks man.
