Don't quote me on this but the m6 ls1's have a higher top end speed, I know for sure on the non s/c cobras because they only have a 5m. But for sure 03-04's will beat on us stock, heaven know's I have tried and lost.

There is a reason the 03-04 cobras are nicknamed "Terminators". I'm going to have to say that a Term will win every time. I think it could be remotely close with an awesome driver in the LS1 but the Term would still win.

Your not racing a cobra if it has a gt hood on it, the Mach1's have gt hoods but they have only 310 horsepower, the cobras were talking about have 385 hp watch this link, move the vid feed to 5 minutes to see what a stock cobra does in the quarter mile. I you are racing one of these and beating him stock the driver doesn't know how to shift.

If you know how to drive and the terminator driver doesn't you can easily win. Alot of Termi owners down here don't know how to launch and I usually rape them out of the hole, they spin. But granted, if both are experienced drivers then the Terminator should win stock for stock.

purple/blue metallic- 2001 WS6
Everyone get the tissue out and get ready to cry. I sold my WS6 last April in order to move to Manila and work for a call-center teaching English. I lasted only a few months before my former employer in Canada made me an offer too sweet to turn down. I came back home and immediately searched for a WS6. I didn't have the money and was looking on GM dealership lots here in Vancouver so I could finance it. Nothing here for sale.
I needed wheels to get to and from work. I decided to take the kids out shopping at the Auto-Mall and we looked for a nice 4 cyl or mini-van family transportation. We walked through the used car section of a big Ford dealership. I drooled over the new Shelby Cobra convertables. I walked back to the used section and my 11 yr old son and 6 yr old daughter were playing in a 2003 Mach1...yellow, lowered and customized. Dealer told me the guy traded it in on a black Shelby KR. He saw the smile on my face. He threw the keys at me and told me to pay him in 3 months. 90 days no payments...bank rate financing after that...$22K plus tax. I laughed. He was right...I can't buy a mini-van or a front drive 4 cyl car...can't do it. So I bought a Ford Mustang.
The 03 Mach1 is basically an 02 SVT Cobra with ram air and a few other changes. Nice ride. Smooth as silk. The previous owner put the Diablosport Predator tuner in it and headers, K&N airbox with Flowmasters and P-Nero-Zero's. He lowered it a little. The car has the 5 speed manual. Very nice civilized ride. Easy to drive this car. I drive it like grandma. Dealer told me they dyno's it at around 336 hp to the rear wheels. It has the sub frame connectors too and big solid sway bars...nice Brembo brakes and Tokico shocks. Very fast muscle car and looks cool too with the shaker hood.
This car is missing something though. I don't feel the same behind the wheel of this car. I "felt" different behind the wheel of my WS6. The WS6 had the SLP package with the Loudmouth and tune and lowering kit...the one for $3.5K on the website. The TA was so much more fun to drive. It was louder and it was wayyyyyy faster. The TA had a certain something I can't place my finger on. It shifted better. The Mach1 has a shifter that feels like a 1993 Escort... cheap feeling. The clutch is crap too. The seats are uncomfortable. I now know why chics drive Mustangs...this is a soccer mom's car. I find myself singing Shania's "Man...I Feel Like a Woman" behind the wheel of this Mach1.
The Mach1 Registry site and forums is loaded with guys telling about all the technical problems and mechanical issues with the cars. The TA is reliable and they don't break down if you drive them like grandma. The Ford will up and die on you for no appearant reason. The Mach1 owners all have to pull this out and replace it or repair that or fix this or complain about this and that. The TSB page on the site is a week's worth of reading.
I miss my WS6. I wept when the guy who bought it from me drove away. I want it back. I see one pass by on the road and I hang my head and cry. I miss you guys. I miss my TA. The Mustang I have is as good as they ever made. We can all bolt stuff on to the car and make it go fast. I buckle my 6 yr old daughter in the back seat with her friend and take them to ballet lessons on Saturday. I drive it like a family car. I just notice the TA is a better ride. The TA was a better car.

SLP Headers and Loudmouth pipes...my neighbors love me...I start work at 5:00 AM!
