I'm right at sea level too.
And I'm telling you no car (especially not a 4 cylinder mitsubishi tuned for fuel economy and emmissions from the factory) gains 1.5 seconds in the 1/4 mile from only an intake and exhaust. Simple as that. You're looking at well over a 100WHP gain to go from a 13.9 (stock) to a mid 12, it just doesn't happen.
I actually find it hard to believe anyone with an Evo X is running 12.4, period. They have less power to the wheels than the 9 model did, and they weigh more and have more electronic crap on them. You'd need a hell of a lot of mods to bump the engine up to the kind of power level necessary to run that kind of time.Last edited by Wesman; 08-17-2008 at 12:18 PM.

actually stock they run 13.5...and its not the same engine as the 9....the 9 is a 4g63 the block on the 4g63 is cast iron.....even though the its still mivec...the x has a 4b11....which is all aluminum....its really different than the 9...also is making more horsepower and torque than the 9....but real shit...maybe he has a flash tune...and just not telling anybody...who knows...and ams has a stock evo x gsr that they tuned and pulled a whamping 103 horse....and 87ftlbs of torque just from a tune....think about that......

cuz there big numbers based on just a tune on a 2.0L turbo.....were not talkin about a V6 turbo here like a supra.....can only pull so much hp out of such a small engine easily and safely...comments on the bottom of that page say " difficult to keep the car straight with +87hp???????? lol how is that? its awd? i can keep mine straight with 400 rwhp .....interesting.....so from what i can see they just tuned it and raised the boost???? thats an enormous gain

im comparing apples to apples......magazines runs vs eachother.....theres prolly some guys on the evo sites runnin faster than the mags posted times too... awd obviously gives u better street traction in high power applications ......traction is obviously quite limited on the street......another big diff is where u live and the given day......tires stick MUCH MUCH better on a hot sunny day mid day with the pavement well over 100 deg......if its 50 out and cloudy theres no way im gonna touch an evo or sti off the line from a light....ill catchem in a hurry though
