Tinnitus sufferers enter here........
My ears have been ringing for weeks now. Of course going to the ear doctor was a waste of money cause he says there is no cure. I did read online to avoid caffine and advil which makes the condtion worse. Both of which I intake alot and will cease today. How do you deal with it all ? Sucks to wake up in the middle of the night and all you hear is ringing. Tried sleeping meds but dont like how ambian makes me feel the next day and it makes me create krazy threads lol

You get used to it...after awhile you don't hear it anymore unless it comes to mind. I don't have Tinnitus though...just some hearing damage from gun fire.

I don't think I have a full blown case, but I do notice a slight ringing most of the time when it is really quiet. Best thing I have found is something like a ceiling fan to help with a little white noise. That and I try to save my ears as much punishment as I can by not being afraid to put a finger against my ear or use ear plugs. Need to keep my hearing good for as long as I can, kind of a requirement for work.

Had it for a long time. You're right, it does seem to be worse when it's quiet. Mine happens all the time. Caused from loud music when I was younger. (and still)

I had this and couldn't sleep for more than 3 hours a night. This went on for about three months. Dr kept saying I was depressed. I tried his way and his meds but didn't help. A friend gave me some Xanax and i slept for 18 hours strait. Okay after that.

I was taking these caffine pills I found @ wal-mart called Jet alert. You could get 90 pills for a $3. I took 1 a day at work when I would bet sleepy. 200 mg of caffine in one pill. Just drinking 2 cups of coffee. I quit taking them Friday and my right ear seems a little better. From what a have read the caffine restricts bloodflow to the ears.
