Theirs a few things you can do without spending money but your not going to "feel" the differance. Prob some of the less expensive things you can do are high flow air filter and box or exhaust.

Well you can always look into weight reduction. The only thing i see worth taking off to make my car lighter would be spare wheel and jack. Some people take the rear seats and other things

The best free thing is the throttle body bump stop mod.

[QUOTE=96z28;1602914]I wouldnt recommend taking the screen off your MAF. It is there for a reason.
I can understand that, I was shown these mods by ls1 owners and I personally have had no problems yet and it's been almost 3 years.

links on the bump stop mod. Basically you grind the throttle stop down a little until you get 4.6v on a volt meter connected to your throttle position sensor.

I would rather get the relatively cooler air from 3 feet above the ground then cut out the bottom of the air box. IMO it is better to seal the air box to the hood and remove at least one of the baffles in the hood. I sealed mine a cheap way, with 1/2'' black heater hose along the bottom of the hood and foam weatherstripping along the sides and top.
I havn't tried the bumpstop mod yet....
